Sanquhar II Community Wind Farm is located in Dumfries and Galloway and East Ayrshire, 6.5km south west of Sanquhar and 14km north west of Thornhill. The proposal now consists of:
- 42 turbines with 200m tip heights
- 2 turbines with 149m tip heights.
- Associated infrastructure; access tracks, crane hardstands, substation and satellite substation, temporary borrow bits, temporary construction & storage compound and energy storage facility.
- 40 year operational life.

Sanquhar II Community Wind Farm will now be able to generate up to 1.21 TWh per annum, power for 335,000 homes each year for its 40 year operational life. Sanquhar II Community Wind Farm would be able displace 546,000 tonnes of CO2 per year, 21.84 million over its 40 year operational life.
Sanquhar II will be provide a substantial contribution towards Scottish, UK and European targets on carbon dioxide reductions and renewable energy generation.
Sanquhar II Community Wind farm will lead to significant investment in the local area, more than £800 million over the course of its 40 year operational life span. This breaks down across the following; construction of the wind farm, business rates, landowner payments, community assets and benefits and job creation.

The wind farm will support the post Covid-19 'Green Recovery' with 200 jobs during construction and four permanent roles during the lifetime of the project. And Community Windpower's
'Buy Scottish' policy will endeavor to keep jobs in the region.
